By having reverence for life, we enter into a spiritual relation with the world.

The Story of Sabrina

{Note from Charlene: This account took place late Autumn of 2000. Sabrina had been rescued from a puppy mill. She was badly matted and neglected, which forced her rescuers to shave her to the skin. She was fostered and rehabilitated so she could be rehomed. She had never been in a family before and was new to the area. She was malnourished, unsocialized and very underweight. Unfortunately, Sabrina escaped from her foster home. Everyone was afraid she would die of exposure because of the time of year, the location (St. Louis). I helped find her as you'll read below. Jane originally posted this (edited) story to the Bearded Collie list and the story was sent world wide. Prayers of the many helped save this dear creature, who is now in a wonderful, loving home. The miracles of the Internet.}

Janet and I had been corresponding privately regarding Paddington's discoid lupus and so every time Janet's name popped up I would read the post, therefore I knew about Sabrina missing. On Wednesday when Janet wrote that she was surprised that nobody had picked Sabrina up (because of her ID Tags and harness etc.) the message hit me like a thunderbolt. All I could see/feel was that Sabrina was caught or hooked on something and couldn't move, therefore nobody could see her out in the open.

I e-mailed Janet and told her this. At the same time I sent a message to Charlene Boyd, my friend and Animal Communicator, telling her what I had felt.

Charlene didn't get my post until Thursday morning. Charlene knew I was upset and by the time she called me she had already communicated with Sabrina and knew that she was alive and trapped. Charlene told me she was in a warehouse in a not so nice part of town, she had run in there for shelter and a piece of wood had fallen and trapped her, she could only move in small circles, lots of chain link fencing, large drums or cylinders were either in the warehouse or stored outside, there was a tractor or other heavy equipment close by. Sabrina was tired, very, very cold and hungry.

Charlene asked if there were people, no people, the place wasn't visited very often. Charlene told Sabrina to bark, people were looking for her. She said she had been, but nobody came, Charlene told her to bark every now and then so she could be found. Sabrina said she would do that. Charlene moved outside the location, saw railroad tracks, heard barges on a river close by, sirens, could be close to a police or fire station, very big 4-way major intersection, also a Mom and Pop type store in the area. Children's voices close by. Also saw metal gas pumps. Charlene also described the streets and houses in the area.

Charlene immediately offered to help. She needed a description of Sabrina and a more detailed location to narrow down the search. I wrote to Janet requesting this and asking her to post it to the list as Charlene and I couldn't receive personal mail because of our server problems. I didn't see Janet's response until Friday morning, downloaded the picture of Sabrina and the map and sent it to Charlene. Charlene worked with Sabrina again and then asked me to get Janet to call. Janet and Charlene chatted around 1 p.m. - with Charlene advising her not to go to the area alone.

Janet called me again to say Sabrina had been found! Janet posted to the list regarding how and where Sabrina was found, and reviewing it all, I would say that Charlene was very accurate in her assessment. Charlene had thought she was within an 8 mile radius of home which I think was correct.

I have known Charlene for years and have also watched her train to become a professional Animal Communicator. She has worked with my Beardies, our deceased bunny Cinnamon, with my friends animals too. Her accuracy level is astounding, in my case almost 100%. The stories I could tell you about our horse 'talking', or I should say refusing to 'talk', to Charlene, because he was too busy; and how we found Nicola's first pony Romeo with another family, just too many stories and all true.

While some of you might think this is 'supernatural woo woo', from my perspective and insight I can assure you it isn't. However I understand and respect your feelings. Until you see it happen in front of you it can be a hard concept to grasp.

I believe God bestows each and every one of us with special gifts, sometimes we discover these gifts ourselves, develop and use them, sometimes others discover our gifts and at other times, sadly, they are never discovered. Each of us is a unique individual with special talents we can choose to use or not.

We rejoice that Sabrina is home again with her family.
