Death and Dying: When it's time to say goodbye
The relationship we have with a pet is often unlike that of any other relationship in our lives.
It is defined by unconditional love and loyalty. For many people it is their first and only experience
with unconditional love. Pets are like silent angels who help us survive the ups and downs of our lives
with their constancy of love, devotion and support that is unfailing at even the darkest times. They help
keep us grounded and in touch with a simpler, uncomplicated way of being that is soothing and reassuring in
our busy lives.
Unfortunately, as we know, pets don't live as long as people and most pet owners are faced with the difficult decision
of losing their beloved pet through old age or illness. It is helpful to know animals do not necessarily experience
the dying process as we do. Since they are a part of nature, they live and experience birth and death as a transition,
knowing that their spirit never dies. What we miss is the physical presence and interaction with our pet. It is comforting
to know that although their physical form is gone, the spirit and love of your pet is eternal and is with you always.
Most pets tell me that when their time to die comes, they ask that their passing is made as easy as possible. As their
guardians, it is our responsibilty to assure them of a peaceful, painless passing.
As an Animal Communicator, I can help you at this most difficult and emotional of times by obtaining clear,
objective information from your pet about his thoughts and wishes. You can always
email or call me and I can help you with the following decisions
and concerns:
1. Is my pet ready to leave? How will I know it's time?
2. Does he want medical assistance?
3. Does he wish to be at home or at the veterinary hospital?
4. Who does he want present?
5. How does he view dying?
6. How does he feel about his illness or disease?
7. How does he want his life remembered?
8. What was his purpose in my life?
9. Is he coming back? In what body form?
10. What life lessons have I lesrned from my pet?
Are You Coming Back?
The passing a a loved pet does not sever the bond of love and deep caring between you and your pet.The relationship is changed
because their physical presence is gone, but there is a legacy of cherished memories and love that transcends time and space.
As an Animal Communicator it is possible for me to contact your pets spirit. Many owners want to know the following:
1. Are you coming back to me?
2. Will you be in the body form that I knew, or will you be another species?
3. Do you have any messages for me?
4. Did another person or animal help you transition? Was your transition easy?
5. If you come back, how will I know it's you?
I have found that contacting a deceased pet helps bring comfort and closure to pet owners and allows them to start
moving forward in the grieving process. In life and death, there is no real separation from our companion animals.
We are eternally connected heart to heart as the following story so eloquently states:
Mei-Ling's Gift
Mei-Ling was very special to me. She was a beautiful Shar-Pei (see image this page) who came into my life on
July 1, 1995, when she was only 7 weeks old. I was not looking for a puppy but my heart melted at the sight of her.
I ended up bringing her home.
Over the Christmas holiday of 2002, Mei-Ling became ill with kidney failure. By the time I was able to realize she
had this problem it was too late to save her. Many changes were taking place in my life and I needed to move out of a bad
situation. I feel that Mei-Ling passed on to help me be able to move on in my personal life.
Charlene confirmed to me that Mei-Ling chose this time to leave so that I would have the strength and courage myself to
finally move on in my life. This helped to ease some of the guilt that I carried for possibly not detecting Mei-Ling's
kidney failure in time to save her. Charlene confirmed that her spirit is with me at all times and that one day when the time is
right, she will find me again. I have not lost my baby after all. We are just separated for a time.

The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge is a land of meadows, hills
and valleys, all of it covered with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this lovely land. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. There,
the old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole once more. They play all day with each other,
content and comfortable.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with the special person who loved them on Earth. So each day they run and play
until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! Then the nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring!
You have been seen, and that one suddenly runs from the group!
You take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the
eyes of your trusting pet.
Then together, you cross the Rainbow Bridge, never again to be separated.
